Prior to joining Bradley & Bray, Carina Bertoldi's career has included roles in both local government and private practice, with significant experience in corporate governance, risk management, insurance and compliance prior to admission as a solicitor.

Carina undertook her law studies while working in governance, corporate risk and insurance, has worked in the legal sector for a total of six years, including three years post-admission practice. Carina’s post admission experience has included roles both in-house at Sunshine Coast Airport and in private practice. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from USQ and a Post Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice (PLT) from the College of Law. She has also recently graduated from a Master of Laws (Applied Law) – Business Law and Transactions (LLM – Applied Law) at the College of Law.

Carina’s background includes three years in the Corporate Governance branch at Sunshine Coast Council and two years as in-house counsel at Sunshine Coast Airport, during which she developed skills in policy development, corporate risk management, legislative compliance and business strategy.  Carina has also acted as company secretary for two boards.

Carina’s hands-on experience alongside business decision-makers, enables her to provide practical legal advice with a commercial perspective. Her understanding of real-world problems and opportunities faced by commercial clients allows her to offer valuable insights and support in navigating complex legal and business landscapes.

Carina sees a successful outcome as one where the agreement reflects the intentions and practical day-to-day activities of the parties. She believes in the importance of plain English and enjoys making transactions and agreements as efficient and practical as possible.

Fun Fact 1: Carina is an orchestral strings player. She played violin from a young age and has developed a love for playing the double bass as an adult.

Fun Fact 2: She is also a foster carer for Devoted 2 Dachshunds Rescue (D2DR). D2DR is committed to the safe rescue and rehoming of dachshunds. Carina chose to foster for D2DR because they fund essential and emergency surgery for dachshunds so that they can have a second chance at a healthy life.

Carina is married with a primary-school aged daughter. She says that when she’s not working, you’ll most likely find her enjoying time with her family and her dogs at the beach or on a hike.
